334 Keewatin Projects : Our 38-year-old swimming pool, which sat on the rim of the city ravine, was telling us that it was time to go. We had done some makeshift work over the years to improve the deck but it was clear that the pool was tilting and would slide at some point into the ravine. When we opened the pool in May of 2012 we immediately discovered that it was leaking. Meanwhile we could not figure out where the water was going because everything around it was dry and there were no apparent rips or cracks. By July we were losing an estimated 200 gallons of water a day. So was time to bite the bullet, rip out the pool and deck, and develop a new backyard plan. We had four contractors come to look at the situation and we never heard back from them. Then we found Sean Black of Black Robin Landscaping. The man is a gem and the company is fantastic. Sean immediately surveyed the situation, developed plans within the few days and we were on our way in the week after Labour Day. Little did we know that this project was going to become something of an adventure. We experienced an October with a record-setting 22 days of rain. We also had a visit from not only the city coroner are but also the chief coroner for for the province of Ontario. Add to that 7 police cars full of police. But it is done and it looks great.
